A Simple Cup of Java

Hello Friends,

Today is my day to post at the Pink By Design, Design Team Blog! And I have a simple little card for you. Sometimes we get so caught up on adding lots of flair to our projects that we forget that in some cases simple says more. I wanted my cup of coffee to be the spotlight of the card. I stamped my image from Pink by Design " Make it a Venti " image stamp set, on some paper from the Bo Bunny et cetera collection. I wanted it to look like a coffee cup ring on a piece of paper. I then stamped the image again on a different part of the paper for the coffee jacket and just paper pieced them together. I went along the outside of the image with a Hot Aqua Bic Marker just to give it some outline. To finish up the card I added some Recollections bling and the perfect sentiment from Pink by Design " Perk Up" sentiment stamp set.  Here is the final project.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday! Be sure to stop by the Design Team Blog, and check out all the great projects and inspiration! www.pinkbydesignstamps.com

Cricut Cardz Challenge

This week at Cardz TV Mary has challenged us by creating a card using any cartridge and any colors. But here’s the challenge. You must choose an image for Christmas that starts with the letter S. I chose the obvious! Santa!
We are having our fiber optics re done where I live so I have to post from my phone and I can’t seem to get a image to upload. But for my card I used Art Philosophy for the card base, Christmas for Santa, and the sentiment is from Pink By Design ” Old Time Christmas ” . I hope you all have a very wonderful Thanksgiving.

Tea Bag Dyed Tags Tutorial

Today I wanted to share with you a quick tutorial on how you can dye your tags! I like to use tea but you can use your left over coffee too! Just expect the coffee to leave a darker brown color.

For this project you will need

1. Craft Tags, I like to use the Ranger Craft Tags size #8.

2. Tea Bags, I love Rose Tea cause of the red tint it gives, but you can play with the colors and see what type of tea works for you.

3. Hot Water.

4. Dish to soak tags.

 Step 1.

Get your supplies ready!

Step 2.

Soak your tea bags. Make sure to squeeze out the excess tea when you remove the bags from the dish. Also the longer the tea bags soak the darker the color. I like to use boiling water, then when its cool enough squeeze them and throw them away.

Step 3.

Soak,  Soak, Soak.

Step 4. (optional)

Here I took some coffee grounds, and rubbed them into the wet tea dyed tag. Let sit for a while then brush off.  This gives it a more vintage look.

Step 5.

Remove tags from water and let air dry. Sometimes they do get pretty warped, I just sit them under some books to flatten them out.  The tag on your left is the coffee ground tea tag, the one on the right is just tea dyed. I did not leave this one in very long. I wanted a lighter effect for a project I am working on.

Here is a tea bag dyed tag I made for sneak peek week!

For this tag, I let it soak for about 15 min. I wanted a darker effect to bring out the red of the ornaments. First I stamped my Background stamp Pink By Design " Falling Snow "  with Tim Holtz Antique Linen. Then I  went around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy and distressed my way to the center. Next came the ornaments from Pink By Design " Peace on Earth " Image stamp set. The sentiment is from Pink By Design " Old Time Christmas " Sentiment Stamp Set. I stamped both the ornaments and the sentiment with Stampin' Up " Cranberry Crisp " . To finish it off I added some Xmas Red Stickles to the tops of the ornaments and added some seam binding and fibers that I had laying around. The brad is from Recollections. I wish it was a more earth tone than white but…we have to make do with what we have sometimes.  So that is all for today, I hope this explains on how to do dye your tags. Pretty easy right? Make sure to post your dyed tags in the Pink By Design Community.

Have a great day,

Meriah
